Greetings to all of you, I very much look forward to having you in one of my sections of social studies classrooms, whether that be the one of the two periods of 9th grade World History, the Psychology elective, Cultural Geography elective, or one of the two sections of 11th grade Contemporary World History. My name is Mr. Williams but you may also call me Mr. S if you would like, whichever is more comfortable for you, is fine with me. A little background on myself, I also attended Seneca Valley High School just like you! I wrestled for our school as well as played football under Coach Kim until I graduated in 2008 and from there received my undergraduate in a Bachelors of Science in Social Studies Education, 5-Adult from Concord University in Athens, West Virginia. I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Geography Education from Concord University which I will attain by the Spring of 2015. I love history, and have since my days at Seneca, but lets face it, most students do not. The way we will get around this barrier is by the utilization of cutting edge technology and intense, interesting debate. In a sense, you and your fellow students will be your own teachers to each other and yourselves, while I take on more of a role as a referee during debates, and a mentor during explanations of videos, readings, projects, and any other assignment. By doing this we can get away from the boring lecture and notes and make learning more relevant and the classroom experience hopefully fun for all of us. This webpage will not only serve to show you when certain assignments are due, it will also have links to various webpages that I believe you should give a good look. The content posted on this website is also open to classroom discussion at any time, and is actually highly encouraged, as I hope you are curious to understand the world you live in. You can also get to know your fellow classmates on here, I may be contacted anytime for homework or project assistance after school at either (240) 328-8370 or Williams.sean79@gmail.com. If you email me, please put the class and period that you are in in the subject line. If you are not enrolled in a certain class but are interested in the subject matter poster, please do not hesitate to browse or share any of your feelings in class or on the message board.
